SHRI BHAKTA HANUMAN TEMPLE

Situated just 15 minutes from the Villa along an easy trekking trail, the most popular attraction in Ramboda derives its significance from the Ramayana, an ancient epic which follows Prince Rama’s quest to rescue his beloved wife Sita from the clutches ofKing Ravana of Lanka, with the help of an army of monkeys.

The temple is dedicated to the chief of that army – Lord Hanuman, and is believed to signify his resting spot during his quest for Sita in the surrounding Ramboda jungle. The temple contains the largest Hanuman statue in Sri Lanka and hosts special poojas dedicated to Lord Hanuman on poya (full moon) days.
